Polyethylene is invented -- this versatile plastic material rapidly becomes a staple in many industries: airline, automotive, kayaks, medical, rubbish bins, signs, tanks, toys, sporting goods, trash cans and more.
Polyethylene later becomes the first plastic in the United States to sell more than a billion pounds a year and the largest volume plastic sold in the world.
A decorating challenge: Polyethylene rejects common decorating methods. Silk screening, painting, stick-on paper labels or chemical transfer labels eventually fail when applied to polyethylene and exposed to outdoor elements.
After extensive Research & Development, MIGS® creates the permanent mold-in system which will revolutionize the way rotationally molded polyolefins are decorated. Windsurfer America® is the first company to use the Mold In Graphic® in full production for the 1984 Summer Olympic Games. Mold In Graphic Systems® will later produce millions of graphics and mold-in labels for companies throughout the world.
1985-1998 Mold In Graphic Systems® relocates to Sedona, Arizona and later builds a new campus nearby in Clarkdale, Arizona. Our mission: To supply the polyolefin industry's needs for the best-engineered permanent graphics and Enhancement Products for molders.
MIGS® R&D department creates Surface Enhancer®, which enhances the appearance and functionality of polyolefin parts. It eliminates ugly pinholes and voids in rotationally molded parts. It also reduces thinning and bridging problems.
Today Surface Enhancer® 360 comes in a new can which sprays from all angles!
Surface Enhancer® is also available in Gel for hard-to-reach nooks and crannies of your mold.
1997 Mold On Graphics® are invented. This new permanent graphic transfer system is applied using a secondary heat source after molding polyolefin products. Suitable for all types of plastic processes including Blow Molding, Thermoforming, Injection Molding, Vacuum Forming, Pressure Forming, Compression Molding, Sheet and Profile Extrusion, Rotational Molding and Structural Foam Molding.
Pro-team®, an industrial vacuum manufacturer, is the first company to use the Mold On Graphic® system for its industrial vacuums.
Mold In Graphic Systems® creates MIGS® Color In Systems and Color On Systems.® MIGS® Colors fuse into the plastic, creating a permanent custom-designed part that is not affected by weather, solvents, or normal wear and tear. Our quality pigments are permanent.

2002 Clear-film Mold In Graphics® are launched. Coupled with MIGS® Adhesive, the Mold In Graphic® System lets rotational molders label and decorate polyolefin products at Regular, High-Temp and Ultra High-Temp mold temperatures.
MIGS® develops Mold On Graphics®, a post-mold, permanent, clear-film graphic. Used with Mold On Graphics® Adhesive, are compatible with all polyolefin products. Put them on a product today or in a few years for a quality look.
RMC3®, Rotational Molding Compound, takes the rotomolding industry by storm. The product's motto: "Just because it's roto-molded, doesn't mean it has to be hollow." Lets you create solid additions to hollow parts, solve molding problems, and reduce scrap.
2004 PL-S® Parting Line Sealer™ extends the life of molds. It keeps damaged molds working, keeps resin in the mold, and eliminates costly repairs.
2005 MIGS® launches the Vinyl and Nylon Graphic Systems, letting you permanently label your vinyl and nylon products.
2008 Mold In Graphic Systems® celebrates our 25th Anniversary as the global leader in permanently decorating polyolefin, nylon and vinyl products.
Genuinely permanent graphics and Enhancement Products for polyolefin products. Since 1983.
2009 Surface Enhancer® 360 is the product that rotational molders know and ask for. Spray it from any angle, in any part of the mold, at any time. It won't clog up. The result: Eliminates voids, pinholes and blowhole. Molds better threads. Beautiful results that you've come to expect from MIGS®.
